Artist Paints Historic President Obama Train
"A Long Hard Journey"

Atlanta, GA February 10, 2009 - Railroad artist Robert West will unveil his recently completed painting "A Long Hard Journey", which depicts President Barak Obama, and the first lady, standing and waving to the crowds, from the rear platform of the Georgia # 300 Presidential Train, near Washington, DC.

Robert is the worlds only professionally recognized black railroad artist, whose grandfather, Allen Parrish worked for the Atlantic Coast Line (now the CSX), railroad, out of the Jacksonville Terminal train station.

The painting depicts the president and first lady, waving to Harriet Tubman, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., George Bush Sr., Ghandi, Rosa Parks, Abraham Lincoln, Robert's grandfather, and a host of other historically significant prople, as they wave back!

The origional unvailing and print signing took place on Saturday, February 21, 2009, during the 31st. Jacksonville Model Train and Railroad Show, at the Prime Osborn Convention Center, (Former Jacksonville Union Terminal). This is Jacksonville's oldest and largest Train and railroad show which includes operating train layouts.
