Bill Stumph from San Diego CA says: "The Stainless Steel Track is great ! It's Fantastic !! I haven't had to clean it yet !!! " We Received this E-mail message from Bruce Alger, Manager of the now defunct Garden Railroad at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi Utah. "Things are coming together and it is getting exciting. The other day one of the garden club members brought out an engine and a small transformer and hooked it to the stainless steel track with alligator clips. We wiped the track with our bare hands quickly and the engine ran great for the 300 feet of track that it was on. It was great to know that we have good conductivity and smooth running with a minimum of maintenance." Thanks Bruce, we share in your enthusiasm for our Stainless Steel Track. Many of our customers have experienced the same pleasure in running their trains more, and maintaining the track less. Note: Unfortunately this railroad is no more. It was the largest Garden Railroad in the United States and drew a lot of attention to Thanksgiving point. After their Grand opening new management took over control of the park at Thanksgiving Point and disbanded the garden railroad and either closed or severely curtailed many of the other attractions at the park. We were deeply saddened by this action because the comments that we heard from the public at the Grand Opening was that the Garden Railroad was the highlight of their visit to the park. Charlie Beal from Silver Springs MD says: "When people ask me what I do to keep my Stainless Steel Track looking so good and running so well, I say nothing! I just run trains and enjoy it. It is the best track on the market, and believe me I have tried them all. Brass was too maintenance intensive so I spent a lot of money for Nickel Silver. That was an expensive mistake. It still required a lot of maintenance and my trains never ran well at all. The Stainless Steel Track from H&R Trains needs little or no maintenance and it looks very prototypical. H&R Trains recommended that I use more power feed track sections in my layout, and although I have them, I have never installed them. I have four separate loops of track that average 150 feet each with just one power feed for each loop. There is no measurable voltage drop anywhere on my track even when the locomotives are at the most distant point from the power supply. The Trains run Great! I am so pleased with this track I plan to add an additional 150 feet or more very soon." Update Note: Charlie Beal Recently moved from Silver Springs MD to Central Florida to be closer to his daughter. He uprooted his entire railroad and brought it all with him to Florida and has already completed a new larger railroad in his front yard. This is the same stainless Steel track that has gone through many years of harsh winters as well as the salt air from the near by Chesapeake bay area. We are not surprised that he brought his track with him because we have heard this same story before from many of our customers that have experience running their trains on Stainless Steel track from H&R Trains. |

Carl Hanover, Owner of the Riverside Marina in Yankeetown, FL says :
" We are very pleased with our Gazebo. It is very well built with suttle refinements over any competitive units we looked at. These refinements translate into a stronger, very good looking unit that will, and has, withstood commercial activity with considerable traffic. We use the Gazebo as an outside office for the cottage business here at the marina. As you can see, we have put considerable amount of time into painting it with no less than 4 colors. Thanks for your continued interest in your products performance." |

| Letter from long time customer and train collector Bill DeCroteau
"Dear Alice, Just a note to let you know that the ETS Locomotive and cars that I purchased from you several years ago have given me flawless service. I probably own more than fifty locomotives but none of them run consistently every time when I turn on the throttle. I now leave your locomotive up year round and it never fails to run every time I crack the throttle. Thanks for your little "Alice" Locomotive. Bill DeCroteau" |

A tourist from New Jersey was overheard telling his relatives: " I have finally found my train store. I have never been in a train store that has such a large selection. This is Great !" George Litzenburg, Jr. from Sylvania Georgia sent the following Email: I was in your store Friday with my Son-in-law and Grandson and made several Purchases. I had not been there before, however I have seen your adds in Model Railroader Magazine. I was impressed with Olga, who seemed sincere in going out of her way to assist an old guy that hasn't built any kind of layout since the early 70's. A lot has changed since then and I have lot of learning to do, especially regarding DCC and other new stuff I have to learn. One of your guys, I didn't get his name, copied some information regarding the different Gauges that was also very helpful. I want you to know that you have obtained a new customer as a result of your staff being so pleasent and their willingness to help a new customer. I expect to be ordering stuff off and on as I develop my Layout. I plan to specialize on PRR, steam and diesel. Again thank you for your very professional staff. Dave Opper from Charlotte North Carolina sent the following Email: You guys set the example for customer service. I really appreciate that. I deal with lots of vendors and people both professionally and personally and have found your response to customers to be at the top of the list. The following is a copy of letter sent to Garden Railways Magazine by Donald Stump from McKean, Pa. To Garden Railways: THESE PEOPLE ARE WONDERFUL ! I would like to tell your readers about my recent experience with H&R Trains in Fla. We were planning to have a train party on Saturday and Sunday a few weeks ago. The Tuesday before I decided to make sure that all of our equipment worked well. I discovered that our Bachmann Shay had a broken universal joint that drives the pistons and no sound. To make matters worse, the power pack suddenly quit working. In desperation, I call the owners at H&R Trains where I had originally purchased the equipment several years ago. Don and Alice Morris told me that the power pack was still under the five year warranty and offered to lend me a new one for the party. They also had Bachmann call me about the broken part and Phoenix regarding the lack of sound. They then made a special trip to Fed Ex so that the power pack could go out that night. As you might expect, I was very busy on the phone that afternoon. By 10:00 am the next day the power pack was at my door. The part for the Shay arrived two days later. This also restored the sound system. It is a pleasure to work with people who will go out of their way to help solve a problem. If it hadn't been for Don and Alice at H&R, we would have had to cancel the party. All businesses should strive to provide the personal service and help that H&R does. Donald F. Stump Perry Mitchell from Pinellas Park, Florida says: "You have more stuff here than the three other hobby stores I go to combined." Paul Cole from Hudson, Florida Says: "We love this place ! We pass by two other hobby shops on our way to H&R but it's worth the trip." Jose & Aida Gibert sent the following Email: "My wife and I went to the train show today, ( we were the first one to arrive ) and like always we really enjoyed everything and admire the way everything is set up inside of the store. Congratulation to Don and Alice and also we would like to thank all the employees for the fine way they answer all of our questions. A special thanks to the gentleman (Lon Cooper) that was running the trains at the garden railroad. Since we moved to our new house and I sold my " O " scale Lionel train layout we have been away from model trains, but I want you to know that the trip to your store today, got me thinking about building another one again. Maybe this time a garden railroad, we will see. Again Congratulations and thank you for the good time that we had there this morning . Keep up the good work and may the Lord shine on you with Love and Grace. Sincerely. Jose & Aida Gibert Tom Flinn from Aristo-Craft Trains: "You folks sure do know how to treat your customers, I wish other Retailers would promote the hobby the way you do. It's wonderful what you and Alice are doing here" Joyce Zievell from Model Retailer Magizine: Dear Alice And Don, Please extend my sincere thanks to all of the H&R Staff. It was a privilege to come to the 40th. H&R Train Show and visit what is truly " A Model Railroaders Paradise". The Enthusiasm you spread in the hobby is refreshing. Best Regards, Joyce Zievell, Model Retailer Magazine. LeRoy Erickson: I just want to thank you for having such a great store with friendly, helpful personnel Charles Miller and the rest of the staff were a great help as I begin my LGB Railroad. Thanks again! See you again real soon.
